With only two simple ingredients, it couldn’t be any easier to make this Piña Colada Smoothie. Even if it is the dead of winter and the ground is covered with frost or snow, all it will take is one sip of this piña colada smoothie to remind you of the warmer weather that is yet to come.

If you don’t have a fun silly cup like the one pictured (which I saved from a work event years ago), then pick up some of those cheap drink umbrellas to put you in the mood. Why not?

  1. I have been trying to find a recipe that I could use bananas. And the coconut I got is cream of coconut. And I have fresh frozen pineapple and of course fresh bananas. Since I’m making it just for me in my magic bullet. How would I divide that up instead of like one and a half or whatever. it is for the coconut juice or coconut milk?

    1. 1 1/2 c. pineapple
      1. 1/3 c. coconut milk

They are almost the same amount, so you can put in 1 c. of pineapple and a little less than 1 c. of coconut milk and blend. Then adjust to your taste. You can, also, make them equal parts (1 c. of each) of pineapple and of coconut milk. Taste to see what you like.

This is great! Mine needed a hint of something sweet so I added just a touch honey. Delicious! In fact, I gave my son a sip and he drank almost all of mine. Thanks for all the great ideas.

  3. Where I live there is only one kind of coconut milk and it contains citric acid which I cannot eat so I usually use coconut flakes and water. Soak them for one night then drain the water, add the fresh pineapples with some ice and blend together.
I use some xylitol to it if it’s not so sweet. I really like it this way :)

  4. when i made this i used unsweetened organic coconut milk but i could not taste the coconut at all so i added some more. still could not taste it. did i use the wrong type of coconut milk?

Hi Kelsey. Did you use the one in the can or the carton? I find the one in the carton is usually more watered down.

  5. Do you know how this freezes? I just got my silicone pop molds and this seems like a good recipe to use with them

We haven’t tried freezing this smoothie recipe yet, but it would probably work okay. Go for it!

I honestly don’t buy it that much so I don’t have a specific brand I stick to, but I know it is sold both canned and refrigerated. I do try to buy it organic and whole (as opposed to reduced fat). I hope that helps!

  6. I have all (two) of these ingredients, but last time I used the frozen pineapple in a smoothie, it gave the smoothie a really stringy texture. I think I need to buy a different brand and try again.

I didn’t have that problem when I made it…could it possibly be your blender? Maybe time for an upgrade?? Ours is nothing fancy (from Target), but just a thought…

  7. Hey mommytoJack,

We have plenty of coconut milk on hand, but no frozen pineapples. Want to make a trade? :-) It does sound so delicious and refreshing!
