1) Why do you have four versions of the meal plans?

The first, uber-popular Real Lunches, Real Easy school lunch meal plan was released in 2014. We created version 2 in 2015 and version 3 in 2017 to provide more variety for our existing customers and the option to bundle and save for new customers. Version 4 is new for 2018 and is geared towards larger appetites for teens, tweens, and adults (we heard you!).

2) How do I choose a custom combination of versions to buy? I don’t see what I want on the sales page.

This year we are only offering version 1, 2, or 3, or a bundle of all 4 versions. Existing customers may contact support{at}100daysofrealfood{dot}com with any special combination requests.

3) Which version(s) should I buy?

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any or all of them…they each provide 6 weeks of meal plans for packed lunches with shopping lists, photos of finished lunches, and more.

The eBooks teach you a system that will have you planning ahead while holding your hand. Once the system is in place, so to speak, you’ll have recipes to make it completely doable. By buying two or more versions, you’ll get more weeks at a cost savings. There are different tips within the products along with new ideas, new recipes, and great inspiration.

4) What’s in these eBooks? Can I see some sample pages?

You’ll find digital content including:
  • A process for organizing and packing lunches.
  • Tips for streamlining the process of preparing food for children’s lunch bags.
  • Ideas for tools to make the job easier.
  • Pantry items that are “real” food items that you may want to consider.
  • Tips on involving your kids in the kitchen/packing process.
  • Six (6) weeks of meal plans for kids lunches, including a few make-ahead meals. Includes a chart with lunchbox pictures to help you keep organized, shopping lists, and more.
  • Blank templates for you to keep the system going after the six weeks are over.

**All four eBooks have differing content, meaning that if you purchase multiple versions, you will have up to 24 weeks of unique meal plans for kids lunches.

There’s nothing like seeing for yourself, so click on the images below to view some full-sized sample pages.

5) How much are they?

Here are the options:

  • Real Lunches, Real Easy version 1, 2, 3, or 4  for $14 each – that’s just $2.33/week
  • Bundle all 4 versions for  $35 – just $1.46/week

These weekly prices are if you only use them once, but of course you’ll want to use them over and over again!

6) Can I really use these meal plans?

Yes. You. Can!!! Really! In fact – read what some moms have said about Real Lunches, Real Easy!:

“I absolutely love the Real Lunches, Real Easy. I use the recipes on a regular basis,” Anne S.

“For weeks, my daughter (at the time a second grader) carried around ‘Real Lunches, Real Easy’ with her and showed it to everyone, and even took it to bed to read before going to sleep. The suggested lunches were starting points for our conversations about keeping our bodies healthy and although we adapted the meals to suit my daughter’s tastes and our family’s lifestyle, she would not have been so receptive had she not seen the meals so beautifully laid out in ‘her’ book. Many thanks for ending the ‘bought vs. brought’ debate!!”
Kim T.

7) My family has food allergies. How prevalent are nuts and eggs in these meal plans?

Nuts shouldn’t be that difficult to work around since they are optional in some recipes and the eBooks provide substitutions in others. Eggs are mostly in the baked goods, so if you are used to substituting there than you won’t have much trouble. But to give you a better idea, I counted the occurrence of nuts and eggs from Real Lunches, Real Easy (version 1).

Eggs:
Week 3 – 2 recipes
Week 4 – 2 recipes
Week 5 – 1 recipe
Week 6 – 2 recipes
Bonus – 2 recipes

Nuts:
Week 1 – 1 recipes + apple peanut butter sandwich
Week 2 – 1 recipes + celery with peanut butter
Week 4 – 1 recipe
Week 5 – 2 recipes
Week 6 – 1 recipe

8) Are these appropriate if my family/child(ren) is gluten-free?

One of my kids is gluten-free, so I’m quite familiar with the lifestyle. If you’re used to it, it’s absolutely doable. If you are used to doing it already, you likely have a good GF pasta or 1:1 flour replacement. I personally like Jovial GF pasta and Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 flour replacement, but whatever your preference is fine. Here are substitutions you can plan to make for MORE Real Lunches, Real Easy (version 2):

Week 1 – Sub GF bread
Week 2 – Sub GF 1:1 flour and sub for WW breadcrumbs
Week 3 – Sub GF pasta and sub for WW breadcrumbs
Week 4 – Sub 1:1 and GF pasta
Week 5 – Sub pasta, GF bread and 1:1 in recipe
Week 6 – Sub GF 1:1 and 2 recipes have WW flour within

9) What if my family/child(ren) is vegetarian?

From Real Lunches, Real Easy (version 1):

Week 1 – all meals can be vegetarian
Week 2 – One main dish that you make has chicken, but all meals can be made vegetarian
Week 3 – 2 Meals have meat (substitutions can be made)
Week 4 – 1 Meal has meat (can also do substitution here)
Week 5 – All meals can be made vegetarian
Week 6 – 3 meals have meat/fish; 1 additional has bacon which can be omitted

It should not be too much of a problem to make most meals vegetarian. You will need to substitute a few items, and Week 6 has the most meats/fish – but we think it is definitely possible.

10) How about dairy?

From Real Lunches, Real Easy (version 1):

Week 1 – 3 Meals have dairy
Week 2 – 3 Meals have dairy
Week 3 – 3/4 (4th is optional) has dairy
Week 4 – 4 Meals have dairy
Week 5 – 2/3 have dairy (3rd is optional)
Week 6 – 2 have dairy, but one can sub soy milk

Now … with all that being said, 2 of my 4 kids (Kiran speaking here) don’t like cheese, so I subbed/didn’t add this in for some of the meals. With some modifications, we do think it’s possible to make it work, but you’d have to go into it knowing that you’d be making substitutions/modifications.

11) Did Lisa write these meal plans?

These eBook were written by Kiran Dodeja Smith, part of the 100 Days of Real Food team. It is a product of 100 Days of Real Food and has tips and messages from Lisa Leake within, but it is not written by Lisa herself.

12) What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and, Discover through our Stripe payment processor. We also accept Paypal.

14) I live outside the US. Can I still purchase?

Yes, however your bank may charge additional fees.

14) Is a printed version available?

No, however the PDF is sized to print easily on standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Note printing on a laser printer will be much cheaper than an inkjet. Also see the support section below for information on all the ways you may view the ebook(s) as well as the print release if you need to have these printed for you at a print shop.

15) I don’t have a printer so how can I print?

You can try a public library, office supply store (like Staples or FedEx), or a local or online print shop. Please note you will probably need to show this Real Lunches, Real Easy print release before they will allow you print the copyright protected material.

16) How many kids will the recipes feed?

These meal plans are ideal for families with 2 or 3 children. Kiran often doubles these (and most) recipes since she has four kids. Version 4 includes larger portion sizes.
